Job Description

Apply Light Vehicle Driver position at Ivanplats – Mokopane, Limpopo Province, South Africa.

IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to  develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.

                                   LIGHT VEHICLE DRIVER 1 REF: IVP-PL-2519

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

·       Grade 12

·       Drivers Licence

·       Defensive driving certificate would be advantageous

·       Road Safety Codes

·       Read maps and use a GPS

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

·       3 years in similar job.  

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

·       Drives vehicles following Company standard operating procedures and adhering to National Road Safety Codes to safe-guard passengers and goods being transported ensuring continued serviceability of the vehicle(s)

·       Drives vehicles with due care and attention, ensuring the safety of the passengers and general public.

·       Undertakes routine vehicle checks for dents, scratches, fluid levels, battery water level, lights, indicators, tyre pressure and heater by reference to a standard checklist

·       Conducts mandatory pre-start checks on the vehicles before using them and records any defects noticed 

·       Replenishes fluid levels and tyre pressure as and when needed. Brings to the attention of supervisor any major faults

·       Cleans vehicle as and when necessary

·       Undertakes national trips as instructed

·       Prepares vehicle for trips outside of the mine property as required. Obtains relevant documentation for the vehicle

·       Carries out errands as required

·       Communicates with passengers in a clear concise and polite manner.

·       Perform other duties as may be defined by your manager.
